One of the most heavily researched concealed carry topics is the search for the best-concealed carry handgun. The problem is this is a very subjective topic. The best handgun for one person may be the worst for another. One must consider things that apply strictly to themselves such as how often they will carry, how they plan on carrying, personal hand size, how loose or tight clothes they wear and much more. #5 Beretta PX4 Storm – Sub-Compact
Beretta has been around nearly 500 years making it one of the world’s oldest companies to date. In those 500 years, they seem to have learned a thing or two about making firearms. Berettas are known for their reliability and the sub-compact storm while maintaining a nice size for concealed carry, still manages to hold 15 rounds (12 for the .40 caliber). This makes it a great option for concealed carry.
#4 Springfield XDS
If you’re looking for a slimmer or thinner concealed carry handgun, the Springfield XDS might be the choice for you. The XDS comes in options of 9mm, .40 and .45 caliber, as well as options of 3.3” and 4” barrels. It seems to handle itself well even in the .45 caliber version. The only downside we found to the XDS is the limited magazine capacity of 5 rounds. However, that sacrifice is what gives it such a nice slim fit and feel in your hand. The XDS has proven power, performance, and viability in a slim, easy to manage handgun. This is what made it our choice for #4 and a great choice for anyone wanting more power without the bulk.
#3 Glock 43
Glock seems to have developed a cult-like following over the years and when it comes to Glocks
you either love them or you hate them. While I personally have not always been the biggest Glock fan, the Glock 43 has really stood out to me. For an accurate, easy to carry, and very reliable 9mm (it is chambered only in 9mm) the Glock 43 makes a great choice. If reliability and dependability are your biggest concerns you might definitely want to consider the Glock 43.
#2 Smith & Wesson M&P Shield
An extremely popular and all-American option is the Smith & Wesson M&P Shield. Chambered in both 9mm and .40 caliber this is an all around great pistol and used all over the world. It’s reliable, accurate, and stands out from the others with a very reasonable price tag making it our #2 choice.
#1 Sig Sauer P220/Sig P250
Carried by US Navy Seals, Sig Sauer has always been one of my favorite pistol manufacturers. The P220 we reviewed has a 3.9” barrel, an SA/DA action, and comes stock with short reset trigger and night sights. It has astonishing accuracy, reliability, and handling even in .45 caliber. For an experienced concealed carrier that doesn’t mind a heftier price tag, definitely, take a look at the Sig P220. Alternatively, the Sig Sauer P250 is a nice cheaper double action variant. We recommend checking out the subcompact 9mm version. It makes a great concealed carry handgun, especially when it comes down to speed and drawing efficiency.
