In order to be permitted to carry a gun, one has to apply for a license first. This is true in many states. And among their requirements for giving out a permit is finishing a CCW training course and passing the necessary test. But then, the exam may be taken online. That is the reason why there are online CCW classes available these days.

But are such online CCW classes legit? In some states, they are. In Virginia for example, it is generally acceptable to take the classes and tests online. The classes will teach students basic gun usage, how to clean the handgun, how to use it safely, and all the applicable guidelines related to its use. The online training available in Virginia takes advantage of the internet so it becomes easier for anybody to file for a permit without having to attend lengthy classroom sessions or even firing a gun.

But then, this may not be true in other places. Some counties require one to physically enter a firing range and experience firing a handgun. They should also learn how to maintain it and use it safely. They must  abide by laws as well. So before you take online CCW classes, perform a research first. Are the training sessions accredited in your county? Will your online completion certificate be accepted by the local authorities?

Can Uoi Get A Conceal Handgun Certification Online?

There are some counties, filing for a concealed carry permit over the internet is possible. However, that also means that you have to pass the examination that the board mandates. Unless you are an knowledgeable handgun owner, passing the examination could be difficult. Your choices are to take it many times or actually learn how to use a handgun before you apply for a license.

Do note that not all states provide concealed carry licenses online. Know for certain if your county is included in the list that accepts online application. If it does, then check the requirements that you need to do so as to qualify for the license.

In counties where online licenses are provided, the whole process can be as simple as these 4 steps:

  1. File for the license and pay the necessary fees.
  2. Go through the online training provided.
  3. Complete the test at the end of the training.
  4. Secure your license.

Though these steps are generally straightforward, you should first know if the license that you are applying for is entirely accredited in your state. There are dishonest companies existing these days that trick people into believing that they will be securing state licenses, only to be given a useless certification of completion at the end of the exam.
